My GOD!!! They're headed this way

From my neighbors to the north (and shamelessly lifted from AR15.com)

Lisa Price, Exec. Director, North Carolinians Against Gun Violence Education Fund, August10, 2007

The 2007 long session of the NCGA began in late January and ended August 2. The legislature will reconvene for the short session May 13, 2008. Although in general it was a disappointing one for gun violence prevention, there were a few bright spots. This is a very controversial topic in a climate difficult to pass legislation nationally and in many states. With every bill we faced stiff opposition from the gun lobby. Sometimes the most we can do is prevent bad bills from passing. Thanks very much to all who helped to lobby for and against bills.

....the gun lobby encourages the "right" of as many individuals as possible to own
guns and the necessity for individuals to protect themselves. They distrust
government. Those of us concerned with preventing gun violence want
government to
protect the right of citizens to be safe from gun violence
caused by guns in the wrong hands....

(Strikethroughs added by me)

The only "common sense" I could find. And I had to take it out of context and omit a phrase....Geez....

Seriously, why limit the violence you are preventing to "gun" violence. Why not all violence? I am personally against knife, club, vehicular, wiffle bat, and weed eater violence as much as I am any other type.

And why depend on the Gummit to do anything? I mean, I know they have done a good job in educa...poverty refo....stopping illegal immi...stopping illegal dru......Hmmm, that's odd, can't seem to come up with anything attempted in the last 50 years by our government that they have excelled in.
